This school year, I have approximately 90 minutes of time all. to. myself. every afternoon. I try not to stand around with my mouth open, drool pouring out, as I relish the silence.
I've been spending my 90 minutes Merry Making, in anticipation of the holidays ahead. The fall is a very busy birthday season for our family, and then of course the holidays are mixed in and it makes for one very broke mother! Making some merry at home keeps me out of the shops and gives me the creative time I crave.
I brew a pot of coffee and get to work. Here is what I have accomplished so far.
Four santa "Squeeze my cheeks and I'll give you a kiss" ornaments for the kids in the family. I used the tutorial at Sweet Tea Soakers. Very easy and you can use up bits of yarn.
I worked on two "Maisie" dolls using a pattern from this book for two little girls in the family. I found this delightful book for a whopping 10 cents at a thrift store.
Making another stuffie from the same book for a little boy in the family. Need to hit "publish" so I can get back to my elf work. If you know of any "Handmade Holiday 2013" link ups, leave me a link. I haven't found any so far this year but it's still early.
