I'm joining Ginny today for some knitting and reading.
I just started reading The Leopard by Jo Nesbo. I returned all my library books and thought I had nothing to read. Luckily I downloaded this book to my Kindle a while ago, and never read it. I took a break from Scandinavian mysteries but I'm excited to read this. It is the follow up novel to The Snowman if you've read that one.
This fall has been glorious with mild days and chilly nights (I even put the wool blanket on the bed last night!) As someone who does not enjoy hot and humid weather, the coming of the fall, winter, spring seasons makes me happy.
On chilly evenings I've been working on these slippers.
I made the slippers last year with an unknown pattern (I think it's a Bev Galeskas pattern) but I couldn't get the felting right. We have a washer that likes to do all the thinking for you and it is impossible to felt in. I really miss my 25 year old washer that I could felt things in!!! They ended up too small so I had to rewash and then stretch them out a bit. I always wanted to add a cuff to my slippers for extra warmth so I used up some yarn and crocheted a tube onto a blanket stitch I sewed to the slipper top. I just need something for the bottom so I am not slipping and falling. I never make "pretty" slippers, in fact I think I always make them from odds and ends. I wear slippers all the time so they don't last very long no matter what I do.
Here are some crocheted flowers I made, once again using up odds and ends. I found an almost finished, yarn wrapped wreath when I was organizing my craft supplies and wanted to put these on there for fall. I went at this like gangbusters and then haven't found the energy to make the leaves. Need to get this done and on the door!
Can't wait to see what everyone is knitting and reading today.
