On Monday, I was able to hang the laundry out to dry.
Today, it was so dark, so cold, so gloomy, that when my kids got up I thought it was the middle of the night and told them to go back to bed. Luckily they didn't listen because we would have been late for school.
This morning, I saw the first snowflakes of the season swirl and whirl before they changed to drizzly, freezing, rain.
On this bone chilling day before Halloween, I made some apple crisp to warm up the kitchen and worked on a bit of my son's dragon hat.
I found the other version of this hat that I made 2 years ago.
I am not sure if the color contrast will be as strong in the new hat but I want to use up the supplies I have on hand.
I've hit a reading slump and haven't been able to get into any books. I decided to reread two favorites, Tasha Tudor's Heirloom Crafts by Tovah Martin and Forever Christmas by Harry Davis. I think I'll reserve some books from the library so I have a new pile to choose from.
I have some chickpeas cooking on the stove and I can't wait to have some chickpea and tomato sauce over pasta for dinner tonight. Perfect for a bone chilling night.
